☀️ Break the Frizz Spell: Our 5 Favourite Ways to Take Care of Curly Hair 🫶🏽

Here are your 5 favs, specialist-approved and ready to post:

1. Hydration is non-negotiable
Curly hair is naturally drier. Weekly deep mask (look for shea butter, coconut oil, glycerin) + a good leave-in every wash. For coloured / balayaged curls, add a bond-builder treatment once a month.

2. Wash smarter, not harder
• Switch to sulphate-free shampoo
• Try co-washing in between washes
• Always finish with a cool rinse to seal the cuticle and boost shine
• 2-3 washes a week max
3. Style while it’s still soaking wet
This is the game-changer. On very wet hair:
• Praying hands method to apply curl cream
• Then a light gel to lock it in
• Scrunch, don’t rake
That way you define the curl before frizz has a chance to form.

4. Dry with care, don’t touch
• Swap your towel for microfibre or a cotton t-shirt
• Diffuse on low heat / low speed, or air dry
• Don’t touch curls until they’re 100% dry — then break the cast with 1 drop of oil

5. Protect at night + trim on time
• Pineapple ponytail on top, silk / satin pillowcase
• Refresh in the morning with water + leave-in mix, not more product
• Trim every 10-12 weeks to keep shape and avoid split ends eating up your curl pattern
Pro tip from the chair: If you have balayage on curly hair, hydration + heat protection is double important. Lightened curls need that extra barrier.
